Man, Persona games i used to play during lockdown in highschool… Saddest shit you can do to yourself. If you immerse yourself you will unironically grow attached with the characters, only for the SUICIDE tier awakening when you remember ITS ALL JUST A GAME, and only CHAD gets to live the Yu life, picking up naïve goth girls and grooming an underaged highschool harem (in persona 4 golden)

me too jfl i played for the socials and got bored at the palaces, also they wouldn’t let me level up my personas (the pokemon shit) and use the ones i WANTED and instead forced me to practice HYPERGAMY and constantly take the highest level persona with fusion in order to progress the shit combat with gay monster designs.

The SMT franchise (which persona is technically a part of, but that's not too relevant to what I'm saying) is the third biggest RPG franchise in Japan and has been super popular over there since the 90s so they likely aren't going to quit making them just because Persona got popular in the west.
Atlas in general likes to experiment a lot, they aren't as cookiecutter as other established gaming companies.
