I actually used to believe the same as you, but OKcupid, Tinder, etc when they released their data proved otherwise.
I will put it another way, if the man is 6'5, but has a 4/10 face, compared to someone who is 5'6 but with a 9/10 face, will never be able to have the same quality of life and experiences with women. I have seen this for myself in public.
Personally, as a subjective criteria I would put it at around 85-90% looks, 10-15% height. The only issue with making statements like this is that height and looks are generally not mutually exclusive, I can't be bothered to right the whole reasoning though

The obsession some Americans (and especially manlets) have with height on these spaces is a bit strange (homoeroticism?), but the truth is that height isn't too relevant if you aren't actually short and have a decent face.
