I don't hate Latinx (using this term ironically) people. In fact, it is because of their constant suffering at the brutality of the gangs/cartels, that it is actually inhumane not to kill them.

One should look at the constant stream of cartel videos, with the most brutal torture that not even ISIS goes close. The most brutal (in terms of agnozing pain) SIS does (on show, at least) is burning someone to death which is only reserved for cases like the pilot bombing civilians, so in their way, they could justify it somehow with a reasonable moral explanation.

I have yet to see ISIS skin someone Alive.

The cartels are, at their root, businesses. All businesses would act like that if they could get away with it, cartels are just an extreme example of what unregulated capitalism becomes.

Money is a much better motivator than faith in heaven (religious motivator) or the desire to build an ideal society (utopian motivator) or the desire to conquer territory for one's country (nationalism). There are no social elevators in Latin America, they have high inequality and they have nothing close to social democracy. They either have extreme right-wing regimes that work only to improve the lives of 10% of the upper strata of society, or communism with a fully planned economy. Uruguay, as far as I know, is the closest to social democracy.
