Reading books is literally no different from reading threads on here. I can't stand normshits who say their favourite activity is reading, just "reading" on its own without specifying the type of material they read, usually they're self-help grifters and productivity hustlers who write LinkedIn posts like "I increased my income a hundredfold after I started reading".
Yeah good point it is no different, I mean we literally have a must READ section of high effort knowledgeable threads to learn things about and that does not really help me with escaping my inceldom or to play video games less.
The part about not specifying the specific material read is annoying too, telling someone to just read is like telling someone to just listen to music at the gym for motivation and they end up listening to classical piano music lol.
Usually these grifters will tell you to head a book like "how to win friends and influence people" I know Scamza has reccomended that specific book, I have not read it but I guarantee it is all basic shit said in a really long winded smart ass mental masturbation way, I have also watched about the 47 laws of power online which I think is a book, I listened to all of the 47 laws of power and only remember 1 good rule to "not outshine the master" which is a good piece of advice, again I basically listened to a book and it has done nothing for me, I have no friends to make or people to influence, I have no "masters" to outshine.
Reading is outdated, if this world had a META reading would be the old META. 100 years ago yes reading would be good since there was no internet you could read to consume knowledge, the internet and technology has made reading a stupid waste of time, its just for mental masturbation and stories now. Same with university 100 years ago going to university was rarer and was valued more but now everyone does it (ironically I got this whole uni is not the meta thing from a scamza video he has some decent content)
