It's almost a sort of bribe ---- give me money, or I'll do something gross to your food. It's the main motivation why I tip in restaurants (the rare instances I eat out); bad tippers are remembered, and if I do return to a place, I don't want some entitled POS who doesn't want to get a real job to do something to my fucking food. For everything else (deliveries, transportation, drinks, etc) I only tip the bare minimum.
My job required a college degree, yet these unskilled shits earn more than I do in a week, in most cases, due to tips.
I have a low opinion of people that serve for a living, and before you tell me "you don't know if you'll end up having to take a server job", well, I'll kill myself before it gets to that.
