it's mostly just an innate and biological fear of death and a morbid curiosity of what will happen in the future.

best case scenario, we enter A.I. utopia and I get a robot girlfriend (will probably never happen)
"worst" case scenario, nuclear war and I get instantly obliterated or suffer for a few days before succumbing to radiation poisoning (will probably never happen)
most likely scenario, nothing ever happens and I rot away until I die of some medical condition or in some weird unlucky way

I've read threads discussing this topic and it seems like most brocels have a more or less similar view.
If you're not roping, then copes just simply make life a bit more bearable.
