Venting Just had the most cruel dream ever

I had this dream where i woke up and checked my phone and found out that I finally made the right move and I was up $30k it felt so real too the details of the app I had was the exact same as the one i use in real life to trade stocks, In my dream I immediately thought about all the weight that had just been lifted off my back I could finally get a replacement for the e-bike that was literally stolen from me, I finally have a chance at some kind of future that doesn't end up with me dead or in prison and then I woke up again checked my phone and i was at $10k, everything was alright turns out I just woke up and fell back to sleep and just slightly misread my screen than I woke for real to find out that I'm down a couple of hundred. I had a dream within a dream, my mind is playing cruel tricks on me.

Old thread but I shorted reddit. Went up to 30k. Slept through the bounce and sold too late.
My portfolio started 3k last year for a 10% swing. Returned the 3k back to my savings. Played the 300 into 3k.
I dreamt that I held to $300k but it reversed with me highly leveraged. In reality I was 30k but overslept and sold back at 3k on the reversal against my position.

30k pretax would have been nice but taxes would have chipped at it fast. 300k pretax is what I needed to accelerate a change my life, currently. Enough to get me retired in 5 years instead of 20 years.

Had to step away a few weeks after that to get my head straightened up. That loss wrecked my patience for choosing the right plays.
