That's just being edgy tbh, and this is coming from the guy who's solution to everything is going ERlol
I get it, I get it. I didn't know this would gain anyone's ire. Doesn't everyone think amber alerts are funny?
Like a child's life is worth so much...
It generally means a missing child.lol

What's wrong with being edgy? I honestly do enjoy the thoughts of children in pain, and concerned people wringing their little hands, unable to do anything.
Anyway, nine times out of ten this is done by a parent during a custody battle. Looking at the details, that is almost certainly what this one is.
I think threads like this have some importance; they show that some people look at the world completely differently.
* I was really disappointed that amber alerts were typically for one parent stealing the children. That's so lame. Amber alert came about because some little girl got raped and killed, right? Now it's domestic disputes - pfft! *
It's worth more than ourslol

Fundamentally disagree. It's worth more than ours
Yeah, and that's what bugs me. I know it's just part of human instinct to be protective of children, and you know what? That just makes child death/suffering all the sweeter because it not only hurts one person, but also everyone who feels protective of the child! It's worth more than ours
I certainly understand your arguement, and taking abortion to it's logical conclusion would mean legalizing the murder of any child under 5 or 6 (after all, a 4 year olds mentality is roughly the equivalent of most dogs).Fundamentally disagree.
A child below a certain age isn't truly self aware, and doesn't value it's continued existence beyond responses to pain and discomfort. We both value our existence, and we're denied that which most people take for granted, validation from the opposite sex and a healthy romantic relationship.
They want us to support society for nothing.

Even the scummiest people get sanctimonious when it comes to children. Ask the Chomos in prison.
Though thank you for not being judgmental Mickey.
Well, I think there is a pretty large difference between abortion and the killing of a child who is already "independent" of it's mother. As far as I'm concerned both are murder, but I could make the argument that the former could be justified. In my view, procreation is at least as bad as murder. Therefore, while a better solution would be to avoid pregnancy in the first place, abortion could be used when this is neglected.I certainly understand your arguement, and taking abortion to it's logical conclusion would mean legalizing the murder of any child under 5 or 6 (after all, a 4 year olds mentality is roughly the equivalent of most dogs).
This is true, but we are at present of greater urgency due to our increased capacity for suffering. If we're even willing to consider valuing one life over another, it seems to me that the logical conclusion would be to prioritize those in greater need. But a child has their whole life ahead of them, and far more potential for a better life than we do (generally speaking).
I mostly agree with this, provided you were certain that the pedophile would act, or was in the process of acting on their urges. It just depends on degrees I guess. I would never donate to or support a single mom even if it made life easier for a child, but would gladly kill a pedophile given the chance to stop him from abusing a child.
But that's a fate that the parents chose for themselves, they should've realized their child was doomed to die the moment they decided to procreate. Most are spared the sight of their imposition, it's an existential taboo to realize to full consequence of reproduction, most parents are simply spared knowledge of it's reality.Dude.... If they are a decent person and they lose a child, they will feel more pain than we ever will. There arent many fates worse than inceldom, but losing a child has to be one of them.
I have seen it happen first hand, even when the "child" is a young adult. The effect it can have is almost something like out of science fiction, the parent ages 10 or 20 years in the span of a week or two and go through life for like they have been lobotomized. I don't know of some of them will ever recover.
I don't always feel sympathy for them since many times it's the parents fault, but there is little doubt they hurt worse than we do. I mean I hurt constantly because I desire a family myself, but to have one and have it taken away like that.... I would probably suicide unless I had someone else I had to protect. I can't imagine a worse hell.
