you must realize that in real life for every misaki there are hundereds of guys like sato.

Sato without misaki and with an underpaid job would be a better portait of the incel life, but of course they needed to put in there some romantic stuff to stimulate nerdy guys to watch the anime.

The whole point of the anime is in fact a hard blackpill pointing out that a girl like Misaki in real life doesn't exist, that's why they didn't get together or kissed in the end and just made an agreement in which they state everyone will try as best to cope with their respective problems in life.

Sato's life is basically a compromise he managed to escape his hikikomori life but he will have to work his ass off in construction just to survive and keep going and this by his own decisions not Misaki's.And he also had to watch his friend Yamazaki and the Senpai getting married and live an happy life while he got nothing in the end.The point is that the only thing left to incels is either die or just make a compromise with life and try keep going with your copes
