Sometimes "I don't drink" kind of people can come off like "I'M VEGAN" foid virtue signalers. Usually socially awkward normies are the ones that want you to drink, because they themselves need to drink to not be awkward. They just want everyone on the same alcohol-is-cope page. TBH you should have never put yourself in the situation to be peer-pressured into drinking.
