This is NOT me trying to dismiss regular catcalling. It is an issue that needs to be taken seriously and should absolutely have consequences for the people who do it. I am just venting some frustrations that I know aren’t appropriate to vent in my real life. I know it’s not right to be jealous of other people’s suffering, even if mine sometimes feels worse.

If you’re a noticeably ugly or a non white woman in a predominantly white area, the catcalling you get is just straight up insults and overtly degrading. There have been a few times where I’ve been called stuff like gross slut, ugly with zero tits, slurs, etc. (edit and tw sa: I completely blocked out another experience where a guy threatened to sa me with his fingers. That was terrifying.) I don’t think I’ve ever been catcalled in a way that was at least somewhat complimentary. People are just straight up mean.
