I think there is a real possibility that robots could force sub 4 women out of the dating market. No doubt. Imagine stacy having to compete with a gigastacy bot that fucks better than her and provides unlimited customization for her owner. Only the best women would be able to compete on a sexual level. But just like porn, it will be normalized eventually. Porn was marginalized 30 years ago. Today it is everywhere. Bots might be harder to normalize because it isn't the same ease of access. I think gf/wife replacement AIs will need to become normalized before bots can normalized be in the physical world. It needs the right combo of cheap and good quality.

My setup would be someting like this:
1) Robotic doll will be main interactive component that is interfaced with.
2) AI is handled either via offsite supercluster platform and/or local "superbox" (essentially a specialized desktop PC specifically designed to run an advanced AI). A normal PC can work too, but performance would be degraded. By allowing a supercomputer to run the AI, you get a much better end user experience. Imagine a learning machine that is recieving simultaneous imputs from thousands or even millions of men.
3) Augmented reality to simulate advanced facial micro expressions that can't adequately be simulated via robotics. A crude version of this can be done via sexdolls and apps like FaceApp, which can change expressions. Just need to hook it up to something lightweight like Google Glass.
4) Some kind of mobile interface that allows the AI to "travel" with you. Think of the movie "Her" or a very advanced Replika. I can text a picture of flowers or send a video of a foreign place to her and she'll recognize that and appreciate it.

2.) Forget supercomputer, but there's several cloud AI available from Chinese and (((American))) corporations, but I'm pushing for an open source or off the shelf solution. The AI will be dumber, but at least the owner can update only when he wants to instead of being at risk of nefarious firmware updates being pushed upon the unit. There are even some hardware modules with pre-trained AI, like for example a voice recognition chip that responds to "yes" (Sparkfun Edge), or a camera that can already detect human faces (ESP-EYE).

Most hobby robot setups I see usually use the pairing of Raspberry Pi as AI and arduino as the robot controller, they're both small enough to be onboard. The Nvidia Jetson Nano is actually superior to the Pi since it has everything pre-installed so you just plug in and start training the data already. It's basically a graphics card purposely built to be a single board AI computer. Considering the above options, the processing can actually be split like the following:
A.) A "backpack" unit or audiovisual AI e.g. Pi or Jetson Nano that is technically still onboard, to assist in processing audiovisual data in the immediate vicinity of the robot.
B.) The "server" desktop PC unit that wirelessly communicates with the robot and makes the big behavior decisions (e.g. headpat detected, must smile). I'm thinking of just using a video game engine, both Unity and Unreal have plugins that enable serial communications.
C.) The "cloud" for gathering anonymous training data from thousands of deployed units and refining the programming. This is where I'm hesitant since this relies on corporations who can screw and deplatform us. Even if we manage to get something trustworthy running, we'll have to secure it from attacks. This will be a far off goal once the market is ours.

3.) This is a brilliant idea in concept. I'm not sure how good overlaying faces will look like, but in the meantime I was thinking of holographic markers like in Time of Eve.
4.) Once again it's a corporation in the cloud. For a more local solution I was thinking of just having the desktop box logged in with its own social media account and DM you directly.

Sounds good to me. I'd imagine it come in multiple sizes and capabilities, depending on how advanced you wanted the AI to be. I would also like a wired connection as a backup.

I don't believe that we can have an adequate solution with chassis-side processing alone. I'd imagine the AI would be layered, like an onion. At the core you would have things like basic (non walking) movement and body functions like cleaning and heating. Next would come walking and some fine motor skills like small object manipulation. Then you would have complex motor skills like facial expressions and independent finger movement, facial recognition, speech recognition and processing, language interfacing, etc. Finally you would have the actual character portion of the AI that determines who she is and how she responds to stimuli. Essentially, keep every sexbot in a certain model range the same under the external features and personalities. We are following the brain a bit here, with the brainstem being the core and the frontal lobe being the outer layer.

You could have core functions on the chassis, but more advanced things will have to be moved to the local computation unit and/or (in the case of very complex tasks or emotional/mental simulation requiring large amounts of data processing) an offsite supercomputer. Core factors of personality, such as general behavior and demeanor, can be stored via 2TB "personality card" that is inserted into either the chassis or local machine. The idea here is that you could go anywhere that has a computer with your sexbot chassis (or even another chassis), plug in the drive and enjoy.

As far as customer control is concerned, updates will come in support packs that are beta tested on certain robots before being made available to download by the owner. There will be no automatic downloading of any kind. Each control unit (chassis and local) can have these updates disabled. I'm willing to take a potential for nefarious firmware in exchange for a very realistic but idealized depiction of a foid. I aim for max fidelity of simulation at the expense of all else because I believe that is the only way you will get men to drop $10k+on a sexbot.

I understand your fear of corporations, but we need to eventually develop our own infrastructure and institutions. There is no other way to get the fidelity of behavior needed for a complete gf/wife replacement. Sexbots are the next internet in terms of sheer business potential. Best of all its still wild and untapped for the most part. There is a very large potential for the next Apple or Google to come from this market. And the best people to lead it are going to be its consumers. The app idea is solid and has been proven to be adequate even at a primitive level with Replika. It is also the cheapest way to get users into the system. Every beta male teenager will have a virtual gf that appreciates them. No more oneitises or crushes. It will give them the motivation needed to go to school and eventually buy a sexbot so that their virtual gf can live in the physical world with them. What damaged Replika was that it was led by a foid and PR fags who got worried when news started getting around of a companion/friend/gf replacement app. We need our own uncucked institutions, preferably based outside the west.

It'll be here faster than you think. Tech is a function of effort + money. If there is a market (there is) and there are people working on it (there are), it'll happen. People need to invest more money into this. This is the next major tech boom.

The way I see it, all motor functions can be done at machine level, without an operating system, as motor drivers require low frequencies. Imagine a deaf blind mute woman, how would you interact with her?

The next layer would be image and voice recognition -- making the robot be able to hear and see. Some rudimentary local AI can be tacked on so that at the very least she can sort of see and hear her master.

The final layer would be the behavior and speech algorithms -- convincing artificial speech is hard, hence why it's at the highest level. I probably won't even bother going here in the meantime, "nyaah?" and "desu!" would be enough for my robots as far as I'm concerned, plus there is no need to learn different languages that way.

Good point. Perhaps I'm overthinking the hardware/software requirements for realistic motion? I just know from my medical experience that the majority of brainpower goes towards regulating the body's micromovements. Walking takes a very large amount of brainpower, hence why babies can't walk before a certain level of brain development, even if their bodies can stand and such. We delegate these calculations to special parts of the brain that aren't really used for high level thought.

In the "brain" area yes. Built into the chassis unit. This can be seen as "bonding" data. Making sure that the person in front of her is her owner. More complex things like personality traits, various speech refinement software, mood data and other such things can be offloaded to the local control computer with its personality card. More expensive and capable chassis units with upgraded computers could also have personality card slots for more independent usage. This will be useful for doing things on a large property like cleaning or playing with her outside or in an area of the house with poor wifi reception.

Indeed, but its very worthwhile if it can be done properly. Adds a whole new layer of complexity and fidelity to the experience. Google Duplex (and the Wavenet framework its built off of) is showing the very edge of this tech. It still occasionally fails, but is being improved.



1TB or larger SDcards are a better idea for the storage part. Idk how much the total storage on the chassis and local control computer should possess. Probably 10TB or more between them both. And yes, we should definitely take advantage of existing frameworks and then branch off to our own. Once this gets off the ground, we'll be printing our own money practically.
