"There are four types of countries: developed, underdeveloped, Japan, and Argentina,"
—economist Simon Kuznets
Japan is often referenced in economic and social discussion due to what are (or were until recently) seemingly unique phenomena for Japan and its people.
Their birth rates are low (South Korea is even worse), real growth in their economy has been relatively low, people are worked very hard (and into their old age), and a massive portion of population are sexless.
What’s a real shocker is even men and women who are married in Japan have very little sex and those who are not married half of them are virgins:

Sound familiar? The “Mouse Utopia” experiment has clear parallels to what is happening now in the developed world. Things are getting worse for and have been for sometime now. Something troubling started in the 1970s here in the states — productivity and wages began to diverge:
What else started happened en masse in the 1970s I wonder? Hm, just a coincidence?
Turns out when you massively increase the labor force like that wages crater like a rock. Consumption may actually have decreased long term (without massive immigration) since fewer children are born when women pursue higher education and careers (this is an objective measured fact not conspiracy — those women don’t have kids or if they do they have very few).
I suspect the “owner” class were the ones responsible for all of the propaganda that has blasted women for decades telling them that having kids will ruin their life (whereas when you talk to actual women who have kids 99% of the time they will tell you it was the most rewarding and meaningful thing they ever did) and that they NEED to be strong independent career women (so, they want more workers/labor competition to drive down wages but they want to disguise this as “progressive” — yeah, because destroying the nuclear family structure and turning men into second class citizens is real “progressive”
).
What’s funny is how a lot of women who wind up being forced to get “real jobs” (aka men’s jobs) hate it and quickly look for an exit (usually to an “easy girl” job if at all possible). Unlike men women don’t actually need to earn much money since they always have the option of falling back on a man via a relatively easy to obtain relationship (turbo easy if they’re willing to accept “poor looks” in their mate). Women balk at that statement but frankly when they do they are lying or delusional — what they actually mean is that most men are not on the table for consideration (and how dare you for suggesting they be!) and locking down Chad is a challenge.
Notice, how in surveys on why they don’t have kids: men importantly say it’s financial and women importantly say they don’t want their “freedom” taken away (translation: they want to keep partying as long as possible). Even women know on some level that money isn’t the problem for them.
Inverted population pyramids are causing governments to panic, not just Japan’s anymore — they try to pump immigrants into the population in a desperate attempt to keep social retirees funded. That’s the real nightmare scenario for young people — as society gets older retirees become a progressively bigger and bigger voting block and vote solely to increase their social security payments and other benefits — this comes at the expense of the working young people who get progressively less and less political power as they no longer represent a majority. This causes a death spiral where they don’t have kids because they can’t afford them (even if everything else / the desire is there and people were getting married).
The situation seems hopeless. Everybody I know works all the time and hates it. Americans have very little vacation (just like Japan). I have to work weekends without extra pay as part of my contract. Most of us are effectively “serfs with some nice copes” but all of those copes 1) don’t satisfy or give a real sense of meaning and 2) They will be taken away at the drop of a hat as soon as you are unable to pay. Our countries national debt is even ludicrous, just like Japan (who led the charge on modern monetary theory and Quantitative Easing — which didn’t even work for them by the way).
It’s not misogyny to grasp and perceive that men and women are inherently different and are typically better suited to some kinds of tasks and rolls. Men and women also have their own unique pernicious tendencies that must be acknowledged and dealt with in a reasonable way for the greater good. For men, this has been done and men are greatly restrained by society. For women this does not happen anymore and it’s a big contributor to all the unraveling of the western world we’re seeing today.
For example, consider the video above. The reason why men need the right to tell their wives “We are having sex tonight” without legal prosecution is because when you don’t give men that power, it defacto goes to women at which point sex simply does not occur and you end up with a dead bedroom relationship (this is life for most men who wind up as betabux). The data bares this out, that’s why what’s going in Japan and those statistics are so important.
But oh well, nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. Just get back in your wage cage and make Mr Starbucks a million more dollars. It’s a joke. In the UK (and other parts of Europe) you can’t even speak out about these kinds of things with honestly (or engage in the dreaded “”””””””hate speech”””””””” TM) without getting arrested:

Seems like all we can do is keep our heads done, survive how we can I guess, and try to cope. By the time things get better it will probably be too late for us, but maybe there will be some opportunity for change before that (here’s hopin).
