I watched Seinfeld a lot growing up, I'm pretty sure I've seen every episode. George was my favorite character by far.

I know I watched a couple episodes of Friends and just thought "this shit is corny". I noticed that back then, you were either a fan of one, the other, or neither, but never both.

Yes, I feel the same way.
Although the German dubs are surprisingly well done, and many of the voices are very similar to the original.
The only problem is that certain punchlines and phrases sometimes only have their full impact in the original English. Since I've become reasonably proficient in English, I've noticed this too.
