Be it in real life or online, every time I judge a man's looks and he's short, I think the same thing: it's ridiculous, unaesthetic and just plain embarrassing.

And I'm not talking about being 5'9 or even 5'7. That's shortish, but not so short that every other characteristic of your persona is automatically irrelevant because of your height.

I'm talking about being around 5'5 or below. At that height, no matter what, you'll always be perceived as just a short man. Your height will overshadow every other quality you might have.

Back2schoolcel has been posting on r/shortguys recently (maybe someone has talked about it here), and he wrote something that perfectly describes my thoughts on height in a way I couldn’t explain better in so few words: "Height isn't everything, but lack of height is".

I don't know the degree to which my hyperfixation on height causes me to think every short man looks laughable, but I'd say it's about 20% of the reason, and the other 80% is that we, objectively, look laughable.

What goes through your head when you see a short man? When you see a man's pic online, do you try to estimate his height?
