just living on the streets, doing odd jobs when I good, and hoping for the niceness of others to give money or food, as a adult I lived out my car also went and lived out multiple homeless shelters not something that is fun I often had to go a week or so without eating

Explaining multiple year gaps in your resume is extremely tiresome and reductive. The jealousy the interviewer would have if you said "I didn't NEED to work so I chose not to" would automatically disqualify you from consideration 99% of the time. I have a lot of thoughts on this and I want to elaborate more on this topic in the future.
They are propositioning you to lie and see how good you are a faking a backstory, basically they want to test you and see if you are smarter than they are and thus a threat to them.
