A big thing to mention: are you using any quick-apply feature on linkedin or indeed or any other job site. Because those only work when the employer checks the listing itself on that website, which is almost never. They’re pretty much just ads. Only apply to the company website.

I'm "lucky" to have the minimum wage job I currently do considering how bad the job market is. Especially since I "get to" work full time, though I was hired based on my availability meaning they can put me on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, and my schedule changes every week.
I work at a fast food joint, and I can tell you that everyday, plenty of people fill out applications. And that's just the people who come in and fill out a paper application. We also have online applications and I have no idea how many of those are filled out a day, probably A LOT more than those who come in and fill out a paper application since zoomers are hyper-introverts who prefer to do everything online.
Not too long ago while I was working 3rd shift, I asked the assistant manager (thankfully this was the more chill manager) what percentage of those who apply are hired, here's how the conversation went ad verbatim (or at least very close to ad verbatim):
Me: So out of all the people who apply what percentage get the job?
Manager: We interview like a quarter of the people who apply and maybe half of those make it to the second interview.
Me: But out of those that apply, what percent get the job when all is said and done?
Manager: I don't know, less than 10 percent
Me: So maybe like, 5 percent
Manager: maybe something like that
Oh so no only do we have a ~5 percent hire rate but those we DO hire now only start part time. A while ago, I noticed whenever someone left or got fired, if they were full time, they'd get replaced by 2 part timers. Apparently the owner wants to transition to an all part-time crew, with the exception of the managers. So I'm constantly worrying about my hours getting cut.
It's insane how some people STILL claim we have a "labor shortage". Anyone saying that is either willfully lying or a braindead out of touch NPC boomer.
Crazy to think that when I was in my late teens, I rode my bike to my nearest fast foot joint, filled out a small application, and I got interviewed on the spot while I was wearing baggy jeans. This was before the great recession though. It really seems like the great recession permanently changed the job market, because it's never been anything like that since.
I was NEET for a few years during the recession, and every job I got after that, I had filled dozens to hundreds of applications and did probably a dozen interviews before I got that job. It especially sucks when those applications require you to do those long ass questionnaires that often basically try to trick you by asking the same question multiple times, just worded differently. Also every job I got from that point on required a second interview with a different manager.

Another issue is ghost listings, and these are a problem on both sites like linkedin and Indeed as well as company websites.
Sometimes it's for "innocent" reasons, like the position was already filled and someone forgot to take the listing down. Sometimes they're fully staffed but just want to have resumes on file just in case things don't work out with one of the current employees. But more sinisterly, sometimes they're put up with the intent of motivating employees by fear of being replaced.
Ghost listings account for at LEAST 20 percent of all job listings, and I've seen estimates as high as 40 percent. Just google "ghost listings" if you think I'm making this shit up for whatever reason.
Personally I'd like to see the government do something about this bullshit, at least start hitting companies that intentionally put up fake listings with large fines. It would probably be hard to police so it would still happen, but fear of getting fined because of a whistleblower snitched on the company for doing this might make them think twice. It's really bullshit because not only is it fraud, but it's knowingly wasting a lot of job seeker's time. Of course, I don't see the government ever actually doing anything about this.
