Fail to follow one of our several convoluted and pointless rules on our subreddit? Banned.
Disagree with a moderator on a discord server who has no right being in a position of authority? Banned.
Upload a video on Youtube that gets flagged for copyright or hate speech and have virtually no meaningful avenue of recourse? Banned.
Same logic goes for Instagram, Facebook, etc. These companies collect huge amounts of user information, only disclosed within the fine print of whatever privacy agreement, and are not held accountable whatsoever. I really think people should make a bigger stink about what big tech companies are allowed to get away with now. This censorship will have dire consequences in the long run.
I really wish there will be a renaissance of open source, decentralized Internet sites in the future which people will come to embrace.
As it is now, our means of communication are held by publicly-traded companies who are happy to sanitize and sterilize user content to appease their shareholders. It is really sickening.
