I have two guys I properly consider friends but my work environment is too fast paced and demanding to have decent conversations where you get to know the other person.

I already talked about how shitty the 24/7 mask-wearing policy is for talking to people, plus a couple of the guys there know each other outside of work which makes it even harder to enter their social circle

I can easily fake being normal long enough to become friendly with coworkers. I usually stop trying once I realize they aren't nearly as fucked as I am. Feels usless to continue a friendship with someone who has nothing in common with you. The effort it takes to fake being well-adjusted and talkative is not worth it for me.

Parents forced me into speech therapy and other lame shit to normalize me. Only taught me how to respond properly to common npc dialogue. That's why it becomes harder to maintain the facade as the conversations become more personal. Hoping to have work friends as an incel is hopless
