3000 objectives (2026 men and 974 women) were involved in this survey. The results enunciated that the values of the items in male were larger than those in female. For example, the mean values of face length, face width, jaw width, lip length and nose protrusion were 117.0, 147.6, 118.5, 51.7, 18.7 mm for male and 109.7, 140.1, 114.5, 49.3, 17.7 mm for female.


The average male's jaw width is only 1.5mm larger in relation to his midface length

While The average womens jaw is almost a half centimeter wider than her midface

(a half centimeter more width sounds like Peanuts, but in reality it can have a drastically Impact on your face)

Women still have smaller skulls in General than men, but skull width or size isnt really a masculine trait, lots of asians are large skulled but still feminine

Objectively Men have longer midfaces on average, but usually they have also have wider jaws in relation to their midface, at least if they have high prenatal T, high androgen sensitivity etc.

It seems that head size may be more of a dimorphic trait than jaw width. I don't know though, whatever traits are dimorphic for men seem to vary a lot, genetics and facial development also play a huge role in how the face ends up looking. Also, because men have a longer midface, that could also make the jaw width appear smaller. I've noticed that most men have way taller chins on average though, this seems to be a dimorphic trait not so easily affected by habits that affect facial development.

They have more sensitivity because their receptors aren't being bound by steroids, which would translate to activity that causes masculinization. Our receptors are constantly being bound, so of course it would be less sensitive to changes in androgen levels. Women are basically neutered men with undetectable levels of testosterone since their conception (healthy women, at least).
