Aside from the life-changing massive milestone events such as teenage love, we are also missing out on the smaller things that are not important, but they would still add up and improve our lives and make us happier if we got to experience them.
I was thinking about Facebook and how big of a deal it was around 2010. It was THE social media to be on at the time. And it had a feature where you could set your relationship to be visible on your profile. You could select a girl, and if she also approved it on her side, both your profiles would state that you are in a relationship. And this would create a post on all your friends' feed. It was such a big flex to be able to do this.
I envied so much those fucking moggers in high school who were bragging and flexxing their relationship on Facebook. I wanted to do it, too. They would also often set their profile pic as a couple photo. How I yearned for being able to do that with a girl...
Now Facebook isn't what it used to be. It was superseded by other social media. Relationship status doesn't matter that much anymore, the feed algorithm also changed massively. It will never be possible to get back to the 2010 Facebook culture...
Just one more thing to add to the pile of things we've missed out on and will never be able to get back...
