Switch 2 Teardown: Still Glued, Still Soldered, Still Drifting
We opened up the new Switch 2 to find out how repairable it really is, and it didn’t take long before we started asking: Is this the best Nintendo could do?

They glue batteries in with extra powerful glue to ensure they can't easily be removed. Nintendo didn't always do this. With even the New 3ds XL you could easily replace the batteries yourself.
However, with the Nintendo switch 1 Nintendo suspiciously started gluing batteries in around the same time they offered a premium battery replacement for the switch 1.
The switch 2's joycons are also susceptible to drifting like the switch 1's, and suspiciously Nintendo now makes users sign a user agreement agreeing to give up their rights to a class action lawsuit.
I guarantee that's because they were losing money on free joycon repairs and instead want to capitalize off premium repairs and customers purchasing new controllers this time.
Also, MUH WE CAN'T DO A SWITCH 2 OILED! is total bullshit. They can very well do a switch 2 oiled, but they're going to wait a few years so they can push consumers to double dip.
