We could literally solve the problem of the pain and suffering that hundreds of millions of men have to endure. We could have robotic maids that cook, clean, give you a comforting hug when you're feeling down and submit to you in the bedroom, just like in your favorite anime. Various companies have the technology for this just sitting around, waiting to be mass-produced at scale. Imagine the billions of dollars to be made in this market? What's holding them back? Foids. Foids would react so vehemently to shut it down through the legal system, no company or VC would be willing to risk such a venture.

So instead, at CES 2020, Samsung unveiled Ballie. Ballie lets foids take even more selfies to placate their narcissism, and can act as a chaperone for their dogs when they're not having sex with them. Designed to satisfy the dreams of Starwars boomers and the desires of Disney-reared foids who want you dead.

As with anything else tech related, its a question of money and competent engineers willing to do the work. This will not be a small project by any means. This will cost, at a minimum, $100 million to create bring a satisfactory product to market. It won't be easy to get this kind of seed capital for a technology as controversial and experimental as this from established sources. This will be something that requires a LOT of crowdfunding and preorders followed by LONG development and beta testing periods before wide release. If the work were to begin today, you would put down a $5k preorder for a basic model and you probably wouldn't get your bot for another 3 to 4 years (being very generous on time scale).

That being said, there is a tremendous market for this technology, and if a company were to arise that exclusively catered towards providing feminine life companions (sexbots) to lonely and sexstarved males, they would become very wealthy very quickly, especially if they were able to keep a low price point around $5k for a basic model. They might even develop a cult following similar to Apple were everything they touch turns to gold commercially due to their target market.

The main barriers to this endeavor are a perceived lack of potential customers, lack of stable market (risk of bans and legislation), lack of cultural acceptance, lack of skilled talent dedicated to sexbot engineering and production, and finally a lack of patience on behalf of buyers and investors.

OP, would you be willing to put down a $5k or $10k preorder right now for a bot you might never receive or you might receive in 10 years?

You should still buy one. It will help with loneliness and will also support an industry that really does have our interests at heart.

That technology will also work as well for some of us. The real issue in each case is the AI, which will take longer and require far more brainpower than even the robotics or interfaces would.
