I thought it was simpler to understand that fact. modern humanity does nothing but its own self-destruction. forget the damage to nature, nothing man made will last in the natural environment for 5 centuries. not even plastic is as durable as thought, as larvae that eat plastic have been discovered. nothing that modern humanity produces is efficient, realistic or anchored with real purposes, but always mistaken and limiting concepts. proof of this is the "progress" that has done nothing but decline humanity from a more realistic state, to a totally solipsistic one over the years. humanity has the same value as any other species of living beings on earth and the existential value of each living being depends on what it does. therefore, at least 5 billion people have less functional existential value than a single tree in a forest.
