He meant fleshlight, not flashlight obviously. This is all the same OP. I often feel a deep shame trying to find community in a group of people that is, as a whole, are completely antithetical to my own values. I try to stick to making friends in the community because the other foreigners here just aren’t cutting it for me.
You have five main types of expats (aka white immigrants) in the Philippines:
- Retirement age men, long term visa, married to a local. Just demographically likely to have some pretty regressive views
- Long term resident sexpat
- The influencer
- The digital nomad
I speak out frequently against this type of behavior when I see it in Facebook groups and Reddit subs but the overwhelming majority of comments just accuse me of being “woke”. I’ll just stick to myself.
He's just there for the culture surely
