Serious Is this a planet or a star?

Does it twinkle when seen with the naked eye ? If so, it's probably a star.

Also planets are usually much brighter than stars, it's hard to confuse one for an other.

If it doesn't twinkle, if it's red and very bright, it's most certainly mars indeed. Currently mars is very close to Earth (we're on a interplanetary transfer window, and Mars 2020 is heading to it right now).

In doubt, check stellarium :

Yep it didn't twinkle and was far brighter and closer.

It's probably mars then.

It is probably a planet. Might be Venus or Jupiter judging from appearance. Wish we had more Threads like this btw, thank you OP.

I filmed more planets day before yesterday, one of them was i think jupiter.

Will be posting them soon.

Would be nice to go to Europa or Titan or Mars for a weekend.

Take in the sights, do some hiking and thinking.

If it moves then it’s a planet.
