i keep coming across these hopeless idiots and if anyone says anything to them about their fucking stupid idea, they get defensive
and like clockwork their life goes to shit in 1-2 years

my whole family tried to stop this from happening a long time ago with like just rational talking and nothing drastic, and the guy freaked the fuck out and cut off all contact for a year or so. then acted like nothing happened and started visiting again.

this slapstick comedy came to an end when their marriage went on the rocks and he tried to shift part of the blame onto the people that tried to talk him out of it.

i've had shit like this happen multiple times, they never listen, even when they act like they've accepted your advice they always end up ignoring it in the end. Then it all goes to shit and they're somehow shocked despite all the warnings you've given them and their own past experiences with relationships that ended the same way.
