Is the rating scale linear or a bell curve?

I'm horrible at rating by incel standards, and I just want to get this straight. Is the rating scale linear (1-10 have 10% each) or a bell curve (like 90% of people 2.5-7.5)? I usually rate roasties and men on the high side and I just want to know how you all tend to do it.
