It depends on how badly ND someone is. Some people are a little awkward while others straight up can't function in life
They will diagnose anybody these days. Autism used to be seen as a terrible condition. Now it has utterly been watered down by fakers and the least clinically impaired. They have completely trivialised and whitewashed autism.
Sadly, these people occupy and control all of the autism communities. And they frequently push back against any attempts to cure or treat autism because they see it as a superpower.

It can depend by your country. Apparently they can make you jump through hoops to get a diagnosis especially as an adult. There is a 4 year waiting list as an adult. I for sure am an autist but I may not get diagnosed as they insist on interviewing someone who knew you as a child which is an awkward thing to arrange. My life circumstances as a friendless KHV NEET should be enough to get a diagnosis without even getting an assessment.
Fakers often get diagnosed through doctor shopping. They have more money and social connections than us, which can ease the process considerably. They also share resources online about saying the "right things" in autism assessments.
It's typical that the people who need a diagnosis the most are forced to jump through hoops.
I agree. They shouldn't give autism diagnoses to people with healthy social lives.
I'd say it's brutal in certain countries like those in Latin America, where being loud and acting like a Puerto Rican rapper is considered the standard for masculinity and attractiveness.
