Is the fear of death and having death anxiety a trait of people with a high iq? It’s something I deal with a lot. I feel like average or low iq people don’t give that stuff a second thought and just live in the moment. It's a bell curve wherein the average fears death and the two extremes don't. Nothing of use can be extrapolated from the inevitability of non-existence after death. "But wouldn't this imply nothing has meaning? That life is in vain?". The last week of his life was brutal bedridden, couldn’t even talk or walk or eat food. I seen my dad go through a heart attack as well and that looked extremely painful. IQ and looks aren’t particularly correlated in a sense that bad looks = instantly means bad IQ or that genetic determination can also heavily dictate your intellectual practices but more in a way that ugly looks yields incompetence and low IQ purely because of years of being neglected, ignored and suffocated due to sources outside of your control i.e. your face.

Even the very simple domaine you get hit with when you receive simple compliments on your looks from strangers can be life changing.

It's a trait of having a good imagination for how things could go wrong. This can be a component of IQ.

Might just be high neuroticism, though i could see high IQ as the cause. I have dealt with this all my life. Ever since like age 7 or 8. At some point in late elementary school I realized what death really meant and I never got into any of the common copes like religion or spirituality or "just make the best of the time you got".

By now I see a real chance that aging gets cured within my lifetime through ASI, so it has been less relevant in recent times, but it is still there.

No, you just sadly have more time to think about it than others. Your perception or acceptance of the idea certainly correlates to IQ, but to continually ponder the inevitable end of your life which is pointless anyway is certainly not healthy. Once your time is up, it is very likely time to go, until such point there is literally no point in even giving it another thought until that point, yeah you will always get passing thoughts, as you will with everything in your life that exists around you, be it an idea in your mind or something physical that you CAN control in the real world.
