Progress can be defined in many ways, and it can be seen as good or bad depending on your perspective.

But, individual freedom certainly is a good measure of progress. Take any freedoms away, and it becomes a slippery slope towards an increasingly controlled and deprived life.

Realistically, what many of incels advocate (taking rights away from women) is very unlikely to happen, and it means we'd be living in a society where a certain group's rights can be taken away if the majority so desires. That wouldn't be a prosperous and safe society, especially for incels, which are seen as inferior.

So, the question is, how can this state of affairs be stopped? Is the inevitable result increasing levels of hypergamy and female privilege until society collapses or turns into a totalitarian dystopia where no individual freedoms are guaranteed?

No it's not possible without authoritarianism, but remember that suppression of female rights has been around in in every civilization since forever, it's probably the oldest societal rule. Everyone knew what happened if females were perfectly free. So ask yourself if some freedom is worth paying for happiness.
