Every extreme is a failure, no matter if too big or too small, too crooked or too upturned
A lengthy but not overly long, reasonably thin, straight nose is ideal; a short upturned nose seems to mostly be a feminine trait... 
Though the nose can easily be made up for or even rendered meaningless, depending on your other facial features and how attractive/unattractive they are.

My nose is reasonable slim and straight, but it Has a high nasolabial angle, it’s not upturned as in like a ski slop, it just ends before it was supposed to end, slightly long philtrum
