Mostly, i would advise being paranoid and not trusting everyone. Making good friends can only be done in childhood, early adolescence, if you haven't made friends or lost them then it's over

i had few friends in childhood outside of school, we spent a lot of time together outside on the streets and it was a good time, then my parents changed residences and I lost them all, i got fully isolated since age of 16-17 and it's pretty bad, friendship was a good cope. My last friend I had a relationship with started spending all of his time on studies and relationships with girl, i found out years later that she dumped him and he has been completely destroyed by this.
