The aging Japanese population honestly does not matter. Japan is not going to suffer famine if they don't allow in a bunch of non-Japanese immigrants. Nothing bad will happen. Their economy may shrink, but that is a petty concern compared to the issue of ethnic and cultural homogeneity. The only justification for mass immigration is the economic one, based on the idea of infinite growth.
Second, even if Japan decides to allow mass non-Japanese immigration, to offset a labor shortage, the immigrants will likely be from neighboring Asian countries. There is no reason to allow in Muslims and Africans when there are millions of neighboring Asians who are closer to Japan, and as well as being culturally more compatible. They will also have a very difficult time getting Japanese citizenship and starting a family in Japan, as generally, low-skill immigrant workers are only given 5-year visas, and Japanese citizenship is very difficult to obtain. So I'm not that worried.
