Is Elden ring a good time I’m thinking about getting this game sometime since it’s similar to Dark souls 3 which was a fun game
From what I've read it's a pretty decent soulsgame, unfortunately I'm too broke to be able to purchase a nextgen console/good PC to run it. 
Yes, it is good. But not meant to be finished 30+ times like people do on yt.

DS1 is easier than Elden Ring for new soulscels though it looks muddy in today's standards

they give you all these damn options which confuses you and not only that you'll spend most of the damn game farming runes to beat some lame overly complicated boss
