There must be something, man: reading, writing, playing music, philosophizing, painting, practicing sports, understanding the world, there must be at least one thing. Find it and maximize it!

Well depends on what you want out of it
For a lot of people, its a great motivator for getting them through hard times. Third world countries are majority religious outside of exceptions like regimes with state atheism.

It provides meaning from what I've seen as religious people are generally more content with their lives but the main thing is actual genuine belief in the religion. Ive tried to get into it but mentally im too far gone with a bunch of issues which make it hard to forgive and see the good in people. So if you aren't jaded and have some hope, id recommend it.

Generally there are multiple denominations within the faith, just pick one that sounds nice to you. If it were up to me and I actually wanted to, id be eastern orthodox as scripture alone didnt make sense to me growing up and Rome is subverted in my eyes.

But good luck if you want to but you have to be genuine otherwise its a fruitless endeavor. That's what happened to me

Yes it's very worth it. Jesus loves you and will give you hope and a future. Christianity isn't a "cope" or self-improvement strategy, but a claim about reality. It doesn’t magically give you a girlfriend or erase loneliness, but it can give you a sense of meaning that isn’t dependent on sexual success or status. Best place to start is just reading the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) and see what Jesus actually says and does. Everything else follows from that. I recommend the NLT (New Living Translation) version of the Bible since it's in modern language and easier to understand.
