There are certain types of intelligence that can be channeled into higher SMV, imho -- especially those types that increase your earning potential and/or social status. I am sure there are guys who are more successful with women than they otherwise would be because they are successful doctors, lawyers, businessmen, etc., or even authors or academics.

But, yes, arcane knowledge or zealous interest in pet topics can give you or demonstrate a worldview well outside the norm and show that you dedicate significant time to bookish, solitary pursuits that have not even paid off for you socially or financially. And that is a detriment. Women are giga conformists and have an instinct for picking out any kind of non-NT or eccentric trait (and, no, IT lurkers -- really liking Game of Thrones does not count as an "eccentric trait") and regard such traits as huge red flags.
