I wonder though if this is a new phenomenon because beauty was always desired by society, the ancient greeks talked about it, in the 40s and 50s some supermodels and film stars like Marilyn Monroe where in everybody's mouth etc. I mean of course it reached new magnitudes with social media but humans were always superficial scum
