Children, even newborn babies have been known to look at faces they find visually appealing for longer - aka attractive faces.

The preference this due to it being:
- More symmetrical
- More prototypical
- Easier for a baby’s brain to process

So “attractive” = visually simple and familiar to their developing brain, aka socially “good-looking.”

You can almost base your assumptions primarily off infants
But then again, of course they can still stare at your face, it is just More Likely that they are staring at your due to looks.

Man, that was brutal. Once I looked at a baby and it started crying. After that day, I never looked at a baby again, which is why I never liked babies.

It's pretty sad when you think about it, every single person in the world will have a natural instinct regarding attraction.

I was also wondering whether girls prefer the father and boys prefer the mother, due to attraction, but that doesn't seem to be the case. But rather who spends more time with the children.

It's pretty sad when you think about it, every single person in the world will have a natural instinct regarding attraction.

I was also wondering whether girls prefer the father and boys prefer the mother, due to attraction, but that doesn't seem to be the case. But rather who spends more time with the children.

That makes sense; the time factor ends up being the cornerstone of relationships nowadays.
Unfortunately, this isn't the case for everyone; here in my country, there are many, many cases of parents abandoning their children before they even reach adolescence.
