Assuming that there are the same number of men and women on this planet, it means that for every woman among those 20%, you have 4 (four) men attracted to this woman.
20 -> 80 and 1 -> 4
Those women, not being used to this kind of attraction, have their ego inflated by so much attention, start behaving like attention whores (if it wasn't the case already), they get more picky because they have multiple choices, therefore create standards that exclude several if not all of those men.
Thus, they progressively get their ego inflated, they think they're top models and as such, deserve top model-tier guys.
