Media reminds us of how incels are seen by society.
A few examples:
Teddy and Aunt Gale from Bob's Burgers (actually many characters in that show)
Moe from the Simpsons
...
In general it is the depiction of how we are seen by society. Pathetic and lonely, and only a background character. Somehow when a "normal" character have problems it is the plot to solve them. But not with incels, the joke is always how pathetic and lonely they are. Essentially it is humor through schadenfreude....the audience is not suppose to empathize but to feel superior.
Much like when normies only remember we exist when they want to feel superior. Even those who are nice to us, much like Bob is to Ted, it is always from that patronizing place.
