I was juggling this idea that in just about a hundred years past (boom years after ww2 dont count, if you had a job you got to fuck). Incel was overall viewed as the cannon fodder.
The eldest son got the farm, but the sons that could not be married off, or if the family could not pay for an education, they were sent to work the mines, factories or go to war. More boys are born than girls, cause historically we required it. From the stone age we bashed each others skulls in. One kidnapped girl from another tribe could breed several more. Womens overall extreme choosiness seems to be natures engineering to stop cannon fodder from reproducing.

I think modern society is running into a issue in that the surplus males have no allegiance to the tribe and our numbers are growing. Just imagine being the incel in a tribe of a few hundred. Of course you're going spend more of your time hunting and exploring so you don't have to hang around the tribe seeing Chad being waited on by the foids. It also helped that there wasn't any excess production to provide welfare to single females.
