Imo that is the reason our based rulers created WWI. By wiping out like 40% of the men.. the men who survived were able to come back, get a good and compliant wife(eg.. staying slim and loyal out of fear of losing her husband), and also the men were able to get a good job because more opportunities to go around. It was a sacrifice that had to be made for the greater good. Those men who had loyal wives & good jobs became loyal supporters of the Empire, and rightfully so.
