I should clarify I break things down by race when it comes to my favorite female singers so Anitta is probably my favorite wetback/Latina singer since Ariana Grande is a complete fraud that is 100% white European and Christina Aguilera always seemed suspect to me on her own claims of wetbackdom.
That said favorite black female singer? It’s damn hard to choose between Janet and Aaliyah but Aaliyah takes the top spot for me if only due to her uniqueness and style. She was just so damned cool and was one of those rare females of any race who could be very sexy without having to parade around in a thong or otherwise half or mostly naked to do so cough cough Nicki Minaj and Cardi B cough cough. If she didn’t die in that plane crash she’d still be ruling the airwaves today and we wouldn’t of had to endure so much Jay Z and Beyoncé.
That said at one point I was such a Toni Braxton fan she could’ve possibly blown both Janet and Aaliyah out of my 1 and 2 top spots to be my #1 favorite black female singer but I think she didn’t due to kind of falling off after some of her major successes in the 90’s.
Favorite white female singer? Gwen Stefani. Mariah Carey and Madonna are too much giant pieces of trash for me to support. Gwen is great if a little corny at times.
