We had a huge “defund the police” movement in 2020, as well as movements to prosecute crimes less severely and release more criminals rather than jail them. With less of a police presence and more dangerous criminals out there, it now seems increasingly dangerous to try to help, you could get stabbed, shot, or otherwise severely hurt or killed.
