At some point you just stop saying hello because you can't bear the natural hostility you receive from people, and that's when they call you creepie asshole in your back ... I just learned to live with that and not give a shit. But I know that most of human experience isn't that bad, and that I'm basically just a second class citizen and can't do anything about it. People are natural bullies to some others, you can't do anything against it. However, when you aquire a bit of status or wealth later in life, people start treating you better. Merely because they imagine they could use you or manipulate you. That's when ignoring them finally becomes a little guilty pleasure.
