This is how it is for me. My relatives and co-workers say happy birthday to me but they don't celebrate.
Btw, I never had a birthday party before. Not even once
Do any of you relate?

yes my old teachers in high school and my parents would tell me happy birthday but didnt actually celebrate.

yeah bro I hate when my family and friends, of which I have plenty, remember my birthday and congratulate me on it

Yes. In fact, no one bothers to say happy birthday to me at all. It's like either they forget it's my birthday or they purposely ignore it. I don't know which one is worse.

I had told my family that they turned their backs on me when I was struggling, that they abandoned me because I wasn't born useful to them from the start. Now some of them text me happy birthday, but if I try to turn that into a conversation its crickets lol.

Damn, that sucks. My family is like that with me. I'm used to it

or they forget about it

That's not what he is saying. He's saying that he was always told "happy birthday" but he doesn't like that nobody did anything for him besides that. (Such as throwing a party, sending a card, giving a gift or food, etc). He never had a birthday or these things, even in childhood I assume.
