I disagree. Blackmail is preferable to gossip and should be legalized.

There is nothing wrong with asking someone to pay you in exchange for staying silent or not revealing something. Women generally have more to hide than men so they benefit more from anti-blackmail laws. If someone tried to blackmail me with a nude picture, I wouldn't care much. But the average woman would panic and run to the police. Women tend to be afraid of blackmail because they don't want to be exposed as sluts.
