Not gonna happen. Soy scientists would be against it and it wouldnt happen. I doubt technology would advance that much considering they said we would have flying cars in 2019.
In practical terms it's not that different than augmented reality (AR) and virtual assistants, both of which are available today. Given how much displays and computer graphics have improved in the last 30 years, I think we'll have that kind of technology (but with AR wearable displays instead of holograms) in half that time.

- Wageslave in a rough dead end job where he's treated like a freak

But technology is moving at rapid rate its just not what people expect. Technology is divided by industry some industries advance more than others because it is all driven by demand and utility. We certainly wont have flying cars or architecture of that kind even in 30-40 years or so lol. Everything will remain pretty much very similiar, there will be new buildings and the landscape will change but it wont be anything dramatic. However in the field of computer science shit will get real soon and I think stuff like this will be possible in 10-20 years.
