And only 9% of all Stalin monuments in Russia date back to the Soviet era. In the 1990s, only 5 monuments to Stalin were built in the country, but in the first decade of Putin's rule, that number rose to 37. After the annexation of Crimea, the construction of monuments honoring Stalin increased significantly.

Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, 4 new monuments to the communist dictator have been erected. Putin leaves no doubt about which ideology he adheres to and whom he seeks to emulate.

trick is to use the altered image of Stalin to make society sympathetic to authoritarian measures. These propagandists made up fake image of Stalin as not a communist Bolshevik but as red emperor, monarch.

This is kind of political schizophrenia they push

What do you want from these people? They barely make distinction between the current russia, soviet union and russian empire. To them, ANY incarnation of the historical russian state is worth putting on their banners. Stalin = good, because ussr = good, because ussr = russia. And russia = good. At all times.

Regimes come and go, what remains constant is russoids' blissful belief in their own awesomeness.

I once went to the russian MOD site and there was a picture of an orthodox priest visiting some unit on the frontline, funniest thing is that there was a soviet flag in the backround while the priest was slinging holy water :feelskek:

Russians always believe in power. The tsar is from God, the Bolsheviks are from God, Stalin is from God, Putin is from God. Any authority is from God.

At least their are not self hated like germans

This is most sad. Russians more than anyone need to reflect on themselves.
This is the reason why Putin marrying his ideologies with Stalinism is to framing his leadership in it's historical continuity with Russia past rather than confronting any internal contradictions/self reflection

Putin is retarded

Are you sure you’re a slavcel? You’re acting like a pajeet with no self awareness that’s lecturing white people about muh, “reflecting on themselves” and call some white subgroups of people “subhuman” or “untermensch” while they’re a bunch of monkeys with zero self awareness and they aren’t reflecting on themselves themselves, nig.

There is nothing wrong with giving slavs shit for where it's due. Note that I'm mainly talking about russians and various populations of homo sovieticus within slavic groups. For every bad thing you can come up with about russians I'll have a few more to add.

But, there is also the choice of what sort of continuity he wishes to claim: the likes of Grozny, Stalin, Ekaterina II, etc. People that architected his public image didn't pick these out of random.

This is the interesting part, Putin may choose which image he emulates whether it be Communist or Tsarist, it serves a purpose of casting Russia as an innocent Nation at its core and make Tsarist and Communist heritage part and parcel of the new Russia

Thats why Putin want to reclaim the imperial borders, a claim grounded in the legacy of Kievan Rus and even the Russian foreign minister Lavrov visited Germany in February 2023 gave a speech at Munich Security Conference said that the German reunification of Western East Germany was actually illegal

Good for the Russians for preserving their history. The past cannot be changed.

They can have all the memorials, statues and land but it won't change Russia's fate of not being the number 1 superpower this century.
